"A significant portion of the Windows operating system base we used during this transition has been moved from Windows 8 to Windows 10. We're not going to be moving over the same number of lines of software," says John Campbell, president of Red Hat Security, in a phone interview with The Verge. "It's just in the design language of the hardware."
It's not so much that Red Hat would like to have Windows RT. It's "quite the opposite," says Campbell. "It's the same idea," Campbell adds. That says to him, things have changed in a new direction.
This change doesn't come as a perfect end-game for Red Hat, but it is a step in the right direction.
