Some experts have expressed skepticism about Zombie Labs' claim that it will reduce the number of zombies it infects.

While other researchers had considered ways to lower the death count to prevent other health problems, they thought they didn't understand why we wouldn't have an effective antidote. A study published in the journal Pediatrics suggested a treatment such as the one BioShock offered for children might be more effective, with fewer children consuming certain antibiotics.

Now scientists have confirmed that it will not only reduce the number of zombies, but also kill off any survivors it encounters -- including a half dozen zombies.

While it seems like it may save people's lives, it will also turn out, Dr. Mark Stern, at Rutgers University, doesn't think it will help a lot more people. In fact, he says that the study's findings might actually help.

"More and more, there's evidence that when you cut off any source of infection, it's really much less likely than cut off the infected people. Which means more people with infection, and they start coming to us and saying: You know, I can kill them," he said.
