Why didn't Amazon build it for us?
We wanted to build something that would provide Amazon's service through the cloud, not just by ourselves. No matter what size or how small our company was, we wanted to create a reliable cloud-hosting solution that users would still need in the event of an outage. That's why we made the Amazon web app for the cloud at launch. The app uses cloud infrastructure to host our data, run a large number of operations, and then deliver our own data to customers in a few simple steps.
With Amazon Web App™, we're making one step toward building on the original intent of our web app. In fact, this is exactly what made us the first team to bring Amazon to the masses.
Our App™ is designed for mobile and tablets. It's been out for over a decade and includes a simple Web application designed to be used in a range of devices. However, it is designed for mobile devices at a fast pace for customers. We plan to launch the App for all mobile devices this Fall, including iPhone, iPad, and Android.
