The second line of action to remove the old software/hardware conflict will be a simple push towards hardware/software compatibility. I look forward to continuing these efforts towards that goal, but unfortunately it'll not be easy and I'm not sure that Apple's future will be any good if there is not a full, open compatibility solution for existing OSes. It's also worth pointing out that these efforts should be accompanied by a significant effort to ensure that all the OSes we use should never run in a shared state. If a Mac or other PC is the product of an open-source or open-source operating system, there needs to be a system that is both open (for Macs) and secure (for PCs).
